Shock - horror

I did like Sheriff John Bunnel's Worlds Wildest Police Chases, but I have just figured that a lot of them are faked

have a look at this ..

"the car stealing kids runs out of luck. A few miles away the BMW breaks down and the sus[pect is caught"

The police camera's text (date/time and so on) has vanished from the video

Now have a look at this one, with the police camera's text not edited out ... if you look at the surroundings, you will see that its just a copy of an earlier part of the chase, but this time

"the BMW barrels across to the other side of the freeway"

I am ... heartbroken *sniff*

Good eye. The show is mainly to "blow" the police force ego. No I don't have something against cops, but they're not super heros. This show is trying to promote the idea that it is impossible to get away from police...Not a bad idea...But bad when you suck at editing.

A much more offensive but accurate show would be COPS. It's entertaining to watch them chase eight yards after a suspect and be completely out of breath.

Keyboard skills

tech·ni·cian (tk-nshn) n.

An expert in a technique, as:

a. One whose occupation requires training in a specific technical process: an electronics technician; an automotive technician.

b. One who is known for skill in an intellectual or artistic technique.

Артёмка (arpt-em-kah) n

Not a technician

Yesterday I was cleaning my keyboard because the spacebar was sticking. I vacuumed off the bracket key but got it back out of the dustbag and pushed it back on.

I was cleaning behind the spacebar with dental floss (as you do) when that came off, along with a little spring. The spring wouldn't stay where it was meant to - I prised up the windows key and pushed that into the space bar hole and that worked sorta, it was odd having such a small spacebar though.

Then I figured that all I needed to do was keep the spring in place for a moment, just enough until the original spacebar could be set in position ... so I reached for the superglue ....

My new keyboard is black and cost £5 at Asda :)

Update

sorry reader, the database queue has been occupying all my online time but now, with the team's help, the queue is back to 0 and I am loose on VR again :)

I went to Aikido classes on Tuesday. I know a lot of people would be bragging they're a 9th dan black belt by now - but I am a pretty hopeless green belt whose main purpose is to make the others look good - but I am really good at falling over. We had a guy in talking about Ki, I was so good at that redirected energy stuff I broke my toe on my Uke (opponent). S'funny, my toe looks like a plum and has two fractures (one across and one sorta spiralling up) but it doesn't hurt at all.

I have been playing a chess game online with a girl from Australia for nearly a month, she hasn't made a move in two days. I wish I had her eMail address because I don't know if she has given up or just had a technical problem

I have found a cheaper supplier of peanuts for my bird feeder and with the money that I have saved I have bought my step sister her birthday present already which is ..... LOL, I know she reads this

I have just finished watching one of Sheriff John Bunnell's World's Wakiest Police TV shows *viewer discretion is advised* LOL

.. now I would hate to be in this guy's town, he spends all his time on TV surely law enforcement in his town must have gone way downhill while he is away - I mean it's like inviting Jessica Fletcher to your birthday party

I saw the world' most stupid criminal - not for his crime or for his driving - but when he was on foot running from where his car had bumped into a police car. This policeman was (a) angry, (b) armed and (c) HUGE. When he was tackled it was like watching a dog jump on a fly hehehe

anyhow, reader I think that brings you up to date :)

Sometimes I miss those types of shows, but sometimes they depress the hell out of me :P

Yea!! for being loose on VR again. :)

Ouch for being the "victim" in training and a big ouchie for the toe

Those weird cop shows are funny especially to regular cops who bust a gut at the idiots.

Fangs

Times Read: 881

I have spent nearly an hour trying to add two little fangs to my new profile pic, its not as easy as you might think LOL

I have gone back to work and it was good to get back to the gloop. I put in my first frost-free cable today. its like a coil of wire that you put around a small area of the pond to keep that area clear of ice - sounds like a good idea except fishies don't really need a hole to breathe while they're on slo-mo and, if you're that worried put a tennis ball on the surface and pull it out during the day to leave the hole ... but then some people have more money than sense and the boss is pleased to help them spend it hehehe

Pffft

Today I had to make a big decision

I know some people can do this sort of stuff just like that. I can't because it affects someone else. I had gone round and round and bugged my step-rents too much - I wasn't avoiding it, I just wanted to be sure it was the right decision.

I hope I got it right, its not nice to do nasty stuff :(

The very fact that you worried this decision and asked for advice means you made the very best decision you could. It's never easy to make hard decisions even those who can do it quickly just tend to save the worries until after the move was made. *hugs*

Bored

I think I am going to be allowed back into the normal routine on Monday.

It's sooo boring sat here watching TV and not allowed online til 8pm

I started my essay for debating theory - we have to imagine that we can send anything in a box to any place or time in history; the only limit is that, once its used, its useless. We then have to debate the impact that our item made on our present

I was going to send a bucket of water to Thomas Farriner, Pudding Lane, London on 2nd September 1666 (starting place of the Great Fire of London) - I was kinda hoping that someone would jump up and down to point out that very few died in the fire and so the impact would be minor - my comeback was going to be that the fire stopped a plague that was well underway, but heh

I gave up with that after an hour or so

... so I sent a modern machine gun and a box of bullets to the Alamo, February 23rd 1836: reckon that would have had caused a few changes in the future timeline
